BUD stands for the “Special Fund for Brand Development, Upgrading and Transformation, and Domestic Market Expansion”. It was established by the Hong Kong Government to support local enterprises in developing their brands, upgrading and transforming, and expanding their marketing in Mainland China and other Free Trade Agreement markets.
Any non-listed company registered under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) with substantive business operations in Hong Kong is eligible to apply, regardless of whether it is engaged in manufacturing, catering or service industries.

Which types of companies can apply for BUD Special Fund
不需要。香港公司董事可以是任何國籍人士，只要提供合法身份證明文件即可。
If the parent company is a listed company in Hong Kong or overseas, can it’s hong Kong subsidiary apply for the BUD Special Fund?
註冊香港公司最低股本只需HK$1。但普遍公司會採用HK$10,000作為名義股本，方便日後股權安排。
Can a newly established company apply for the BUD Special Fund?
是的，這是「公司條例」的法定要求。值得一提的是，公司秘書可以是香港居民或秘書公司（公司秘書服務提供者，如 OneSEC）。
Can a company apply for new project funding when a project is not yet completed?
不用，一般情況下，稅局會在公司成立後大約18個月發出首份利得稅報稅表。之後公司每年都需要進行審計及報稅。
