NITTP (New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme)

The New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP) is a government funding scheme launched in August 2018. It aims to encourage local enterprises to provide their employees with advanced technology training related to “new industrialisation.”

Open Course Training Provider Requirements

  • Training institution must have at least 2 years of experience in technology-related training
  • Must hold a valid Business Registration Certificate
  • Must be a registered education institution (in compliance with the Education Ordinance)
  • Must be able to provide suitable course venues and facilities
  • Must have relevant insurance coverage (e.g. public liability insurance)
  • Must provide proof of instructor qualifications and training experience
  • The scheme adopts a 1:1 matching grant model
  • Funding is granted to the enterprise, but courses must meet the eligibility criteria
  • Course fees must be reasonable and transparent, with a detailed cost breakdown submitted at the time of application
  • Covers local or overseas advanced technology training courses
  • Courses must fall under one of the following types:
  • Open courses (open enrolment)
  • Specially designed courses (customised for enterprises)
  • Technology must meet the following criteria:
  • Advanced technology
  • Not yet widely adopted in Hong Kong
  • Conducive to industry upgrading and new industrialisation
  • Course content must clearly state:
  • Module content and duration (hours)
  • Teaching dates and mode of delivery
  • Instructor background and experience
  • Class size generally not to exceed 45 participants
  • Administrative fees must not exceed 15% of the total cost
  • Courses must have substantial technical depth and practical application value
  • Course registration applications are accepted year-round (subject to available funding)
  • Applications must be submitted at least 4 months before the course commencement date
  • A confirmation notice will be received within approximately 7 working days after submission
  • Approval is generally completed within approximately 60 working days after submission of complete documentation
  • The process includes an administrative review and a technical assessment
  • Copy of Business Registration (BR) Certificate.

Can course providers apply for funding?

課程提供者本身不直接獲得資助No, course providers do not get the funding directly. The grant goes to the company. But once your course is successfully registered, companies can use NITTP funding to enrol, which helps attract more students to your course.

Generally required:

  • At least 2 years of experience in technology training
  • A valid Business Registration Certificate
  • Must be a registered education institution or meet the relevant conditions
  • Must provide suitable venue and insurance coverage
  • Must have a team of qualified instructors

Course fees must:

  • Be reasonable and transparent
  • Be clearly stated at the time of application
  • Not charge subsidised students more than non-subsidised students

NITTP 課程登記全年接受申請NITTP course registration applications are accepted year-round (subject to government funding arrangements), but must be submittedat least 4 months before the course commencement date.
